About the author
Paul Sumpter, BA, MA (Hons), LLB, LLM(London) is a senior academic in the Faculty of Law at the University of Auckland, teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in intellectual property law. He has practised in the intellectual property field for over thirty years, mainly in New Zealand, but also in Sydney. Paul is a barrister and solicitor and a registered patent attorney. He is member of the Copyright Tribunal (since 2004) and a consultant to Chapman Tripp solicitors where is he is able to mix the practical aspects of the law with full-time academic duties.
